The Fabulous Four Hero Products for Floors

  1. Microfibre Spray Mop
AKA a mop - with integral spray. You add your chosen cleaning solution and away you go. No bucket no water for surfaces that might be damaged by excess moisture. A dream and will reduce your cleaning bills as the time saved is significant. Also an excellent choice for anyone with balance or lifting issues as much lighter than a mop bucket combo. The floor heads are washable and replaceable and don’t shed as some sponge or loop mops do over time.

There are many versions of the spray flat head mop with washable pads. They last well and are perfect for most modern home hard floors. I got one from Pound Stretcher for £9.99 but you can pay almost any price - much more at Lakeland for a very similar product. Market leader is Vileda available in supermarkets around £20 but this at £15 looks serviceable.

2. Wooden Floor Cleaning from Method
A little more expensive than some, Method make a hero product for wooden floors which caresses  hardwoord floors with almond oil. Smells amazing, and when I have used as instructions direct does not cause excessive slipperiness as some products do when used neat,  However one caveat l - be wary of this product if you or others in your home  have  nut allergies,  Flash have a wood floor alternative which is less appealing but avoids that risk. In either case  use with flat head microfibre mop for best effect.  Not suitable for other floor types

Bonus Feature! The Secret Weapon. . . . always free and never out of stock!

Last but not least, do not forget the simplest thing you can do to freshen up your home, reduce infection risk and improve air quality is to open the windows.  It is also a key action to take in the fight against COVID-19.

Research shows that being in a room with fresh air can reduce the risk of infection from particles by over 70%  Florence Nightingale made the connection between fresh air and recovery from infection back in the 1850s so this is nothing new but it is something we have perhaps lost sight of in our modern homes.

When you wash or shake out smaller mats air them outside on the line if at all possible.Sunshine is a great source of natural cleaning. It even kills dust dwelling bacteria.
If you don’t have a washing line or think them unsightly remember there are retractable versions so they can be out of sight when you have company now our gardens are opening to others again. https://www.argos.co.uk/sd/retractable-washing-line/

Remember if you have very young children this can create a fall risk, but there are some great products so you do not have to choose between fresh air and the safety of the very young.

Now… go enjoy some sunshine and leave me thinking about keeping everything clean! New customer enquiries are always welcome.
